Beautiful home stocked with everything (including dishes, many blankets and pillows, and fresh towels). Very clean home and just a few steps away from the subway. Julio was very kind and flexible in handling everything. I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

I stayed with two colleagues in January 2009 for four weeks at 12 Sylvan Terrace while attending a teaching course at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Campus. Founding the spot through the webpages of sublet.com, we primarily choose it because of its close proximity to Columbia (which is a 5 min walk). When arriving, we were stunned about the beautiful setting of this lovely town house. It is located in a historic street (If you do not believe, look it up in the guide book). It is also a quiet location while having all amenities like supermarket, subway station and laundry nearly literally in front of the doorsteps. Not to miss that we also felt safe in this area. The subway to Midtown (Columbia Circle) takes about 20-30 min and a yellow cab drive costs about 20 US-Dollars. What we even more appreciated, was the extraordinary inside of the house with state of the art fittings. Complimentary high-speed internet access, two plasma screens with satellite TV, fully equipped kitchen with stove and induction, dishwasher and large ice-box (all of number one brands). The rental was clean and the electronic heating system, adjustable in every room, ensured a warm surrounding. Unfortunately, we could not really appreciate the large balcony with the BBQ (as we stayed there during icy winter). Notably, comparing 12 Sylvan Terrace with other places from friends we visit, I would definitely recommend this spot when you are temporarily working at Columbia Medical Campus. I did short term housing several times in the past. In addition to a quiet, nice and clean apartment, what you really appreciate (and which has nothing to do with the amount of money you spend) is having a friendly and reliable landlord. Here, we really could count on Julio. Contact to him was easily established from Germany via e-mail and phone (he called me several time on his expenses before signing the contract). I do not want to miss that we did have one of these small hassles you always have with short term housing in a foreign environment. We encountered a small congestion with the toilet – one hour later Julio was there and fixed it. Last but not least (that I also must put on my list of “the perfect landlord”) was the fact that Julio always respected our privacy. In summary, we had a wonderful, unforgettable time at Sylvan Terrace. The spot really ensured that we had a great stay in NYC and we would love to be here there again anytime.

“As a born and raised New Yorker and a longtime resident of Washington Heights, it was heartbreaking for me to have to give up my apartment in the neighborhood after living and loving it there for so many years. Coming upon Julio and Kenza's exquisitely designed townhouse and the historical haven of Sylvan Terrace is among the best treasures I could have ever found. The two floor, 2 bathroom, 2 bedroom, office loft with brand new modern kitchen and baths and a charming deck has become among my favorite places to land when I come home. <br/>
